Professor offers insights for News & Observer article about UNC academic fraud case

An article in the Raleigh News & Observer about an upcoming NCAA hearing regarding the academic fraud case involving the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill includes analysis by Jonathan Jones, instructor of communications at Elon and director of the N.C. Open Government Coalition. 

The Oct. 27 article looks at potential fallout for UNC even if the university prevails in avoiding penalties for infractions. 

“If they are successful, they have put themselves in a position where there’s going to be continued doubt whether UNC is getting special treatment, or this was a valid argument,” Jones told the newspaper.
