Elon students produce online news content at Global Action Summit
Four students and a staff member from the School of Communications provided video and social media coverage for the annual forum that brings together world leaders to discuss perspectives relating to food, health and prosperity.
A group of Elon University students and staff coordinated, produced and distributed online news coverage for the 2016 Global Action Summit, an annual conference in Nashville, Tennessee, that convenes top decision makers, leaders and young fellows from around the world.
Seniors Katie Klochany and Andrew Steinitz, juniors Paul LeBlanc and Jackie Pascale, and Bryan Baker, director of sound and video projects in the School of Communications, teamed up to provide video and social media reports highlighting the summit’s events, keynote addresses and activities.
The group traveled to Nashville for the Nov. 14-15 convention and conducted interviews of speakers and attendees about topics relating to food, health and prosperity. In addition to videos for the summit’s website and YouTube channel, the Elon contingent also oversaw content on the conference’s Twitter and Facebook platforms.
Here’s the group’s summit introduction video:
“I could not be more proud of the work and effort these students have put forth at the summit, offering both insightful and timely news coverage,” said Baker. “Many at the summit were impressed with the students’ professionalism, which was apparent in the strong work they created.”
The students interviewed a variety of world leaders and experts, including Fareed Zakaria, anchor of CNN’s “Fareed Zakaria GPS,” and Myron Brilliant, executive vice president and head of international affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Zakaria moderates the annual summit.
