Communications grad pedaling on Journey of Hope
May communications
graduate Kevin Burrows is one of three Elon University students participating in
a cross-country bike trip to raise awareness about disabilities. He is
participating with other members of Phi Kappa Phi in the 3,900-mile, 63-day
Journey of Hope, a national project of the fraternity, a national
organization for top male and female scholars in all university majors.
From June 2 through Aug. 4, approximately 70 PKP members from across the United
States will travel in two bicycle teams from San Francisco to Washington, D.C.,
stopping in designated cities to present information about disabilities to people
in schools and civic groups.
Burrows, from Pittsburgh, Pa., will be a member of the northern route team,
riding four to five days per week and covering about 75 miles per day.
