More than 80
new members were inducted into the Elon University School of Communications
chapter of Lambda Pi Eta at a recent ceremony in McEwen Studio B.
Adviser Dr.
George Padgett introduced chapter president Christian Brescia and
his fellow officers, Idalia Hill, Samiha Khanna and Juliet Marateck.
They led the new LPH students through the induction ritual. Keynote
speaker Dr. Connie Book deliver a stirring talk on a communicator's
responsibility to raise the level of public discourse.
New officers
were announced. They include: Lindsey Vogel, president; Lauren Kleinhans,
vice president; Sally Lynch, secretary; Ellen Foust, treasurer;
Lauren Melfa, scholarship officer.
A picnic followed
the induction ceremony, with live music provided by Elon's resident
guitar wizard Dr. David Loomis.
