Pendulum students attend
conference in New York

Leaders from Elon University's student newspaper, The Pendulum, attended the National Student Media Conference sponsored by College Media Advisers in Manhattan, N.Y., March 19-23.

The eight student editors met and worked with editors and administrators from major media organizations, including The Associated Press, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Newsday, The St. Petersburg Times and Knight-Ridder Wire Services.

They had the opportunity to take a tour of NBC's New York studios, and two of the students attended a taping of CBS-TV's "David Letterman Show" at the historic Ed Sullivan Theatre. Several students also saw the Broadway musical "Rent."

The group, led by adviser Janna Anderson, included Colin Donohue, Lindsay Porter, Katie Beaver, Eric Hall, Matt Ford, Jessica Patchett, Kathleen Frey and Andi Petrini.
