More than 90
new student members were inducted into the Elon University School
of Communications chapter of the honors organization Lambda Pi Eta
at an April 8 ceremony in McEwen Studio B.
The organization
is affiliated with the National Communication Association. In order
to apply for membership, a School of Communications student must
have completed at least 60 hours of university credit, with at least
12 of those hours in the School of Communications. Members must
possess no less than a 3.0 overall GPA, and a GPA of at least 3.25
in the School of Communications. The adviser for the organization
is Dr. George Padgett.
The guest speaker
for the event was Dr. Brooke Barnett. Current officers Lindsey Vogel,
Ellen Foust, Sally Lynch, Lauren Kleinhans and Lauren Melfa turned
the reins over to the new officers: D. Jared Bowers, president;
Erin Mahoney, vice president; Maggie Piggott, secretary; Ryann McMillan;
treasurer; Samantha McCoy, scholarship.
