E Pluribus
Unum is a newly started campus organization at Elon University's
School of Communications. The group comes with the explanatory subtitle
Diverse Students in Journalism & Communications.
E Pluribus
Unum had two meetings during the fall semester of 2004, and selected
officers at the second meeting, in early December. They include:
co-presidents Lynice Williams and David Lagos; vice presidents Ericia
Leufroy, Maria Interiano and Adrienne Winston; and secretary-treasurer
KeiSaundra Henderson.
The organization
is open to all students in Journalism and Communications who are
interested in promoting diversity in the School of Communications
through speakers, workshops, activities, etc.
Students will
be defining the organization's objectives in more detail early in
February, as they prepare the materials to pursue university recognition.
Dr. George Padgett has been an organizing force behind the group,
with help from faculty and staff members Tom Nelson, Ocek Eke and
Jala Anderson.
