Student does research
for the Travel Channel

Communications major Laith Al-Majali was credited as a researcher on two Travel Channel programs, "Guide to Jordan" and "Guide to Qatar." He has won recognition in several newspapers and magazines in Jordan, much of it for his Elon-based video-production work. He was also interviewed for an article about the future of Jordan's film-production industry by Al-Rai, Jordan's largest newspaper. "I was asked to voice the concerns of the young generation of potential filmmakers," he said.

Al-Majali was enrolled in Elon's London program during the fall term, and is spending the Winter Term back home in Jordan, working on a number of short films with Amman Filmmakers Cooperative. He is the first recipient of Elon University's King Hussein Scholarship.

Ten of his photos have been selected to be shown in a London exhibition of the work of young Jordanian photographers. It will be on view in February under the patronage of Crown Prince Hamzah bin Al-Hussein of Jordan.
