major Laith Al-Majali was credited as a researcher on two Travel
Channel programs, "Guide to Jordan" and "Guide to
Qatar." He has won recognition in several newspapers and magazines
in Jordan, much of it for his Elon-based video-production work.
He was also interviewed for an article about the future of Jordan's
film-production industry by Al-Rai, Jordan's largest newspaper.
"I was asked to voice the concerns of the young generation
of potential filmmakers," he said.
Al-Majali was
enrolled in Elon's London program during the fall term, and is spending
the Winter Term back home in Jordan, working on a number of short
films with Amman Filmmakers Cooperative. He is the first recipient
of Elon University's King Hussein Scholarship.
Ten of his
photos have been selected to be shown in a London exhibition of
the work of young Jordanian photographers. It will be on view in
February under the patronage of Crown Prince Hamzah bin Al-Hussein
of Jordan.
