P.J. Buckley
and Scott Myrick have been honored with a 2004 Telly Award for the
graphics and animation package they designed for Elon Student Television's
"Phoenix14News."
This is the
second national award given in recognition of the show's graphics,
and the student-produced news program has now won a total of six
awards for its work in the 2003-04 academic year. Buckley and Myricks'
package includes more than 30 original still graphic and animated
elements that can be seen week to week on the live broadcast.
Previous winners
of the Telly Award competition include MSNBC, TBS Superstation,
ESPN, Animal Planet, QVC and Turner Classic Movies. This year's
Telly competition saw more than 10,000 entries received from around
the globe. Elon Television's "Touchdown Phoenix Football"
has previously been honored with a Telly.
