School of Communications faculty member Tom Nelson wrote a column about all the things he loves to hate about Las Vegas that appeared in the Oct. 26 edition of the Greensboro News & Record.

Nelson's article ran as a "Personal Adds" column in the features section; these columns written by N&R readers are reflections on contemporary life.

"I can't even stand its name," Nelson writes of the glitzy boomtown in Nevada's desert. "Going to a show in Vegas? Where're you staying in Vegas? It's Vegas this and Vegas that. Las is lost. It is a city curtly summoned like a dog. Vegas."

Nelson's column appears on the front page of the paper's Life section.
