Twelve Russian
journalists, accompanied by three Russian facilitators/translators,
visited the School of Communications Oct. 8. They visited with Elon
faculty and students in McEwen Studio A.
The group also
toured the new center for the Elon University Poll in the Gray Political
Science Pavilion, where the print, radio and television journalists
were given a short presentation on public opinion polling by former
journalist and Elon Poll director Tim Vercellotti, an assistant
professor of political science.
The Elon visit
was a side trip for the journalists; they spent a week visiting
Duke University's DeWitt Wallace Center for Communications and Journalism.
They represent a variety of Russian media outlets, including Mariy
El Pravda newspaper, Public Television of Russia and Novaya Gazeta
newspaper's Ryazan bureau.

Yelena Konstantinovna Cherkasova, Aleksey Gennadyevich Frolov, Oleg
Valeryevich Kochkin, Nadezhda Anatolyevna Olshevskaya, Irina Ivanovna
Osmanova, Tatyana Alekseyevna Polkova, Natalya Vladislavovna Privalova
and Yelena Mikhaylovna Voronenkova.
