Visitors to
the School of Communications lobby and the school's web site have
the opportunity to view a newly produced video introduction.
If you are
on campus, you can access the "Welcome Video" on the flat-panel
plasma television in the School of Communications lobby by pushing
a nearby white panel button. It activates the new promotional video,
which showcases the school's students projects, faculty members,
internships and digital equipment. The plasma TV generally shows
live cable-news programming, but the high-energy Elon video production
starts up with the touch of the button. After the video plays, the
television automatically reverts to previous programming.
The video
was produced by School of Communications students Katrina Taylor
and Devin Grasty. It incorporates still photos of faculty members
by University Relations photographer Jerome Sturm and video footage
by students Mike Livigne and Laith Majali and senior video producer
J. McMerty. Chief engineer Jeff James and student engineer Dan Turk
worked out the logistics involved in making the video available
anytime at the push of the button.
Visitors can
also access this video on the School of Communications web site's
About
Our School page, which has a link to it named "Program
Intro Video" on the right-side navigation area of the page.
