Linda Lashendock
and J. McMerty of Elon's Television Services office worked along
with a crew from the School of Communications to provide technical
support for an experimental class in Elon's Music Theatre Department
called "Whose Class is This Anyway?"
Music Theatre
Professor Richard Gang said the class was a "breakthrough"
for students, explaining that it "provided instruction and
an arena in which to practice the art of theatrical improvisation."
Part of the
course was a competition between four theatrical improv groups that
aired on Elon Television at 8 p.m. March 11. The live production
was staged before an audience. The broadcast was also streamed online.
The production
included a documentary by McMerty that helped explain the developing
weeks in class and the work that went into the production.
