Minors to
complement
your chosen major
Students majoring
in the School of Communications are strongly encouraged, but not
required, to pursue an academic minor or a double major in another
discipline. Students add to their intellectual foundation and increase
their career options when they have depth in another area - be it
political science, history, art, business administration, international
studies or a host of other possibilities at Elon.
In turn, the School of Communications offers two academic minors
for students who choose to major in Business, Education or an Arts
and Sciences discipline. About 60 Elon students are pursuing a minor
either in Communications or Cinema.
Minor in Communications
JCM 200 Communications in a Global Society
JCM 211 Professional Speaking and Rhetoric
JCM 218 Media Writing
Choice of additional JCM courses to total at least 24 credit hours,
with at least 8 of those credit hours at the 300-400 level.
Minor in Cinema

Social Influence of Cinema
Choice of additional courses to total at least 20 credit hours,
from the following:
