8/21/2008The Elon University softball team will be hosting tryouts for the 2009 season Wednesday, September 10 at 5:30 at East Field. All interested athletes must have a physical on file with the university. Proper practice attire is required and athletes are responsible for bringing the necessary equipment. Athletes interested in trying out for the Phoenix softball team must contact head coach Patti Raduenz by phone at (336) 278-6744 or e-mail at praduenz@elon.edu by Sept. 9.
Story Phoenix Preseason Football Practice Update #218/20/2008After a day off from practice, the Phoenix returned to the Hunt and Tucker Fields on a hot and sticky Wednesday afternoon for just over two hours for the 21st edition of the 2008 Elon preseason football practice schedule. Cornerback Karlos Sullivan had a big pass breakup, linebacker Brandon Campbell hauled in an interception and quarterback Scott Riddle connected with wide receiver Terrell Hudgins on a deep touchdown throw.
Story Phoenix Lands at No. 15 in TSN Preseason Poll8/19/2008For the first time in its 10-year membership in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision, Elon has landed in The Sports Network preseason top-25 poll announced Tuesday. The Phoenix debuted at No. 15, up eight spots from No. 23 in the final TSN poll of 2007. Altogether, five 2008 Elon opponents – No. 1 Appalachian State, No. 4 Richmond, No. 13 Wofford, No. 17 Georgia Southern and No. 23 The Citadel – earned top-25 positions in the poll.
Story Elon to Hold 3rd Annual Season Ticket Pick Up Party8/19/2008The Elon Ticket Office will hold the 3rd Annual “Season Ticket Pick Up Party” on August 21 at 6 p.m. in the Woods Center at Rhodes Stadium. Those in attendance will be able to pick up their season tickets and enjoy great hotdogs from Zack’s of Burlington. The party will also correspond with the 2008 Media Day press conference with head coach Pete Lembo and Phoenix football players along with an open practice following at 7:30 p.m
