Conference Technologies

Instructional and Campus Technologies (I&CT) offers three types of conference technologies to meet your specific needs. To schedule a conference follow these steps. For support during a conference, please contact the Technology Help Desk at x5200.

Teleconferencing – uses a telephone line and provides a voice only connection.  The teleconferencing units available allow you to dial out to join a conference at another location or host events at Elon for others to dial into. The teleconferencing units* can be requested by calling x5200.
*Note: Consider using the speakerphone on your office telephone for small conferences.

Video conferencing – uses an Ethernet connection and provides a way for you to hear and see participants. We offer point-to-point or multi-point video conferencing. I&CT’s video conferencing solutions allow you to join a conference at another location or originate a conference at Elon. To plan a video conference, please contact the Help Desk at x5200.

Web conferencing – uses a computer and provides a way for you to hear and see information. This allows you to attend an online presentation or meeting. I&CT can coordinate with an outside company if you would like to host a web conference. Please contact the Help Desk at x5200 for more information.
