Brief Biography
Anthony J. Amoruso, an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Love School of Business, joined the faculty of Elon University in 2008. He earned his Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Georgia. Dr. Amoruso is a former senior manager for Arthur Andersen LLP, where he worked in the Professional Standards Group and the Assurance practice. He also served as a technical manager for the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, working with the Joint Risk Assessments Task Force. Dr. Amoruso’s primary research and teaching interests are financial accounting and auditing. He has published in a variety of academic and practice journals, including Accounting Horizons, Issues in Accounting Education, The CPA Journal, New Accountant, and the Journal of Government Financial Management.
