Brief Biography

Dr. Allis has been a member of the Mathematics (now Mathematics and Statistics) department at Elon since 1995 when he completed his PhD in Mathematics at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.  More recently he has been pursuing a PhD in Higher Education from UNCG.  His research interests are in developmental education at public community college, especially related to who teaches the courses.

Skip's wife, Celeste, is the Dean of Mathematics and Science at Rockingham Community College in Wentworth, NC.  They have no children, but together they have 12 cats and are currently fostering kittens for the Guilford County Animal Shelter.  Skip enjoys watching sports, currently especially football and European soccer.
