Bryan E. Hedrick was born and raised in London Kentucky. Bryan attended Sue Bennett College and Eastern Kentucky University where he earned 30 hours beyond the Masters Degree in Education. Bryan began his professional teaching career in public schools in Kentucky, then moved to Canandaigua, New York where he continued to teach in the public schools. After residing in New York for three years Bryan moved to Jacksonville, Florida and made the transition into Higher Education. Bryan was first hired as a Drug Prevention Specialist for the University of North Florida, to work with the school systems in nineteen Northeast Florida counties. He later became an instructor for the College of Health, teaching a wide range of Health Science and Public Health courses on a full time basis.
Bryan came to Elon University in the Fall of 2004 to serve as an Instructor in the Department of Health and Human Performance. His primary responsibilty has been to assist in the delivery of the HED 111, Contemporary Wellness Issues courses to undergraduate students. Bryan has also taught several other courses while at Elon including; GST 110 Global Experience, GST 324, Substance Abuse and Human Behavior, PEH 125, Skills and Activities for Teaching Individual and Dual Sports, Peh 126, Skills and Activities for Teaching Team Sports and PED 177, Badminton.
Bryan has beeen very active in University governance, serving on numerous committees. Bryan has served on General Studies Council, University Academic Standing Committee, Department and School of Education Committees and task forces. He currently serves on the University Faculty Athletics Committee and the University Student Appeals Board.
Bryan is also involved in residential life having served as an Faculty Affiliate for the Danieley Center, and currently is a Faculty Advisor for the Health and Wellness Living Learning Community. Additionally, Bryan has advised serveral student clubs including assisting in the formation of a Fishing Club and has been the Golf Club Advisor for three years.
