Brief Biography

Dr. John J. Burbridge, Jr. is currently a senior fellow at Elon University. From 2007 until 2012 he was a full professor in operations and supply chain management at Elon.  From 1996 to 2007 he served as dean of Elon’s Martha and Spencer Love School of Business.  Prior to joining Elon, Dr. Burbridge had an extensive background in both industry and higher education.  Between 1979 and 1984 he was responsible for the logistics function of a major supplier of welding products and gases, AIRCO Welding Products.  At AIRCO he was specifically committed to improving customer service through the effective and efficient use of information technology.  While at Loyola College in Maryland Dr. Burbridge was the Director of the David D. Lattanze Center for Executive Studies in Information Systems from 1988 to 1992. The Lattanze Center is a unique partnership of business firms with the Sellinger School of Business and Management at Loyola that focuses its attention on effectively and efficiently applying information technology to business processes.  From 1992 to 1995 Dr. Burbridge was Associate Dean of the Sellinger School responsible for executive and graduate programs in business. He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in industrial engineering from Lehigh University.

Dr. Burbridge has conducted research in business, supply chain management and baseball analytics.
