Brief Biography
Dr. C. Catherine Chiang received her Ph.D. degree from the City University of New York (CUNY), Master of Accounting degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and MS in Management degree with a concentration in Management Information Systems from NC State. Prior to joining Elon, she taught at CUNY- Baruch College, Greensboro College, and North Carolina Central University. She has published articles in Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, among others. She is on the Editorial Board of International Journal of Organizational Innovation. Her research focuses on the capital market valuation of accounting numbers, especially the valuation of intangible assets such as R&D. Prior to pursuing academic career, she worked as an audit staff at a public accounting firm.
