My life philosophy is to help if you can and if it is within your power. I guess I am in the right position here at Elon. For the past 8 years, I have tried to assist the students who are interested in becoming teachers. Being around these students has given me a sense of staying young while also taking on a motherly role with them. They come into the office with many questions, expectations, and excitement about their future as a teacher. It is an important profession and I feel that I am helping in my own way.
Another life principle is to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I think I get a chance to live this principle every day. I try to let my light shine by smiling, laughing, and listening to everyone. It tells people that they are important.
