Brief Biography

Erica DeSota Trollinger comes to Elon as a 2009 graduate of Western Carolina University where she double majored in Biology and Chemistry. While at Western, she was an avid member of the National Residence Hall Honoraries where she served as President and North Carolina Association of Residence Halls where served as Assistant Director for NRHH from 2007-2008 and Director from 2008-2009. 

Erica was a percussionist in WCU's "Pride of the Mountains Marching Band" from 2004-2009. She served as the section leader for their front ensemble and a foreman for their Equipment Crew. Through the Music Department, she taught as a Summer Symposium Music Counselor which, through summer camps, offers life changing experiences for high school students using the outstanding power of music.  For all of her years as an undergraduate, Erica was the student instructor for the Ballroom Dance class, and primary instructor for the Ballroom Dance Society. 

After graduation, she was employed as a Quality Assurance Specialist for Ameritox, a pain medication diagnostic lab, in which she was heavily involved with initiatives to standardize internal operating procedures and an internal safety program. She volunteered on her local fire department for two and a half years and was a member of Alamance County Rescue for a year. She is certified as an EMT-Basic.

Her professional affiliations include memberships of Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, NRHH Alumni Association, NCARH Alumni Association, Dance Society, Girl Scouts of America, and the American Society for Quality.
