Personal Information

Heidi Hollingsworth

I suggested an outdoor setting for the portrait because many young children so love to be outside and it is a great context for learning. My work in education focuses on early childhood, special education, inclusion, and social-emotional development.

Teaching in the School of Education has allowed me to be part of a professional community that is dedicated to the care and education of every child, and to the development of new and continuing professionals in the field.

As my own children proceed through the educational system, I am constantly reminded of the importance of our work in schools of education and of the value of Elon's relationship with schools in our community.
