Brief Biography

Lisa Rosenberg, a Senior Lecturer, joined the Mathematics & Statistics Department at Elon in 2000. Originally from Long Island, she completed her undergraduate and graduate work at Binghamton University, NY.  She holds degrees in both Mathematics and Mathematics Education.  

Lisa's teaching career focuses primarily on courses within the Elon Core Curriculum- specifically teaching serveral courses of General Statistics each year.  She also teaches math content courses to the  pre-service elementary and middle grades students at Elon.   

In 2004, Lisa co-published a paper entitled "Math and Education Faculty Working Together to Improve Content Knowledge for Pre-service Elementary Teachers", in the Proceedings from the North American Chapter of the International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education.  

Throughout her tenure at Elon, Lisa has presented at national conferences, edited many mathematics & statistics manuscripts, and chaired numerous committees.  Most recently, she presented at the International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference (IWAC) in MN in June 2014.  

In 2014, Lisa was awarded a $5000 Writing Excellence Grant to purchase a classroom set of tablets.  Her scholarship is currently focusing on the effectiveness of using tablets for peer review within the General Statistics classroom.  She co-presented her work at the Teaching & Learning Conference in August 2014. The talk was entilted "Pixel Power: Three Ways to Engage Students with Mobile Devices."

Lisa's academic honors include membership in Phi Beta Kappa, Golden Key National Honor Society, and Pi Mu Epsilon.
