I think whoever coined the phrase “life-long learner” had someone just like me in mind. Fortunately, a school librarian’s job is a perfect fit, and Elon is fertile ground, for a reader and knowledge seeker.
My job as CRC director is an extension and a progression of the work I did in K-12, trying to encourage a love of literature and to assist teachers in their crucial labors. Now as before, the students are what make the job entertaining and meaningful.
I help our teacher candidates as they prepare for life in a classroom, where I hope they too will find the same joy I’ve experienced working with students.
