Brief Biography

Professor Midgette received her Ph.D. in American History from the University of Georgia in 1984 and joined the Elon faculty in 1985.  She has taught in a number of fields, including the American South, the American Civil War, American Military History, and Leadership Studies.  She has served as Chair of the Department of History and Geography, Director of the Isabella Cannon Leadership Program, Interim Dean of Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences, and Associate provost.
