Personal Information

Marna Winter

My years of teaching have shaped my beliefs that a successful teacher is equipped to meet children where they are, build meaningful relationships with them within their culture, and provide developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for all children.

My position at Elon allows me to work with teacher candidates and maintain a presence in the community - to experience the best of both worlds. I am able to share the best educational practices with motivated teacher candidates and to do so on the basis of my previous and current classroom experiences.

Elon offers me the opportunity to implement my philosophy within the community by serving on committees such as the Ready Schools Task Force, Great Bend Charter School Proposal, and the Elon Early Childhood Design Team. I am able to use my passion for enhancing the education of the Alamance-Burlington School System for all children.
