Brief Biography
Natalie Marrone, MFA is a fusion artist and has performed field research on Southern Italian healing traditions and folk rituals since 1998. That same year, Ms. Marrone created the Dance Cure in Columbus OH to showcase her choreographic fusion of Italian folk traditions and contemporary dance forms. Her choreography and research have been featured in national commercials, live television events and presented throughout the USA, Italy and Taiwan. Her choreographic and written scholarship have been presented by the National Dance Education Organization, The Congress on Research in Dance, The National Italian American Folk Art Federation, the American Italian Historical Association, The North Carolina Dance Festival, Ohio Dance, The North Carolina Dance Association as well as others. Ms. Marrone's work has been awarded numerous city and state grants, choreographic fellowships, foundational and university level research support, and honored twice in the Columbus Dispatch’s “top ten” performances of the year. Her consulting firm Dance Decisions was featured in Dance Magazine’s 2008 College Guide. She has taught extensively as a master teacher and guest artist throughout the United States and has enjoyed being on faculty at Ohio State University, Western Michigan University, Ohio Wesleyan University, Meredith College, Duke University and Elon University.
