Leadership Positions
Chair, Department of Education (Fall 2012 - present)

I began my professional career at Elon in 2005. As a member of the Elon community, I have had the opportunity to enhance my teaching skills, and my efforts were awarded in 2008 when I received the School of Education’s Excellence in Teaching Award. I believe that teaching is not just about planning meaningful learning experiences, but also about making connections with students.
Acting has always been my other passion, and I try to balance teaching and acting. As a result, I have performed in local, regional and state productions. When asked where I’d like to have my portrait made, without hesitation, I asked to be photographed in the theatre. I plan on continuing to “break a leg” for many more years at Elon University.
