Brief Biography
Dr. Salwen, an assistant professor of Political Science, joined Elon University in 2012. She received her B.A. in Foreign Affairs and Political and Social Thought from the University of Virginia, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests include the evolution and political pariticipation of Islamist movements and U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. She has conducted extensive fieldwork in Egypt, Jordan, and Israel.
