Brief Biography

Ms. Tracey Tonsor joined the faculty at Elon University Department of Physician Assistant Studies as Assistant Director of Clinical Education and Assistant Professor in September, 2012.  She comes to us from Cardiology Consultants of Danville Inc, in Danville, Virginia where she provided direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings as a certified physician assistant.  She also served as a sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials involving cardiovascular disease and different treatment modalities for a multitude of cardiac conditions.  Tracey continues her clinical practice one day a week where she also is a preceptor for physician assistant students and third and fourth year medical students. 

Ms. Tonsor received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA and holds a Bachelor of Science from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC.  She is passionate about physician assistants and the role they have in increasing access to patient-centered care and improving patient outcomes in today’s healthcare environment.
