Brief Biography

Victoria ("Mrs. S." or "Shropdog" to those in the know) happily joined the Elon family in 2009.  She teaches ENG 110 (first year writing) and ENG 255 (a theme-based literature course), is a member of the Digital Humanities Committee, and advocate for the Elon Relay for Life.

A North Carolina native, she has lived in Texas, California, Kansas, and abroad in Belguim and England, but loves being back in the heart of NC. She loves traveling, escaping to the coast at every opportunity, is an avid swimmer (NC Masters team) and rescuer of animals both two-legged (Hubby) and four-legged (dogs, mainly).  Otter, her youngest (>2) rescue, begins Comfort Dog Training in January 2014.

Her pet peeves are seahorse birdbaths, cypress clocks, and velvet painting of Elvis.
