Brief Biography

I came to Elon in 1986 as a first-year student and never left! Originally from southern NJ, I was drawn to Elon to study Communications. You can imagine what a privilege it was to meet Brian Williams when he spoke at commencement many years later! Like many students, I changed my major and graduated in 1990 with a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in management. While at Elon I did several internships but the one that "hooked" me was in the admissions office. It was exactly what I hoped to do after having had such a great experience as an undergraduate. Upon graduation, I worked in admissions for five years representing Elon in MD, DE and DC. During that time I completed my MBA at Elon and wanted a new challenge. I found it as director of reunion giving in the University Advancement office.  I had the great pleasure of working with alumni across a wide range of classes and learned more about Elon than I thought possible! In late 1997, I returned to Admissions as director of international admissions. Later, I added graduate admissions to my responsibilities and served as dean from 2005 - 2012. During those years, I started representing Elon in St. Louis, MO. Although time away from campus in my current role is challenging, I still insist in keeping STL as my territory. It's a professional and personal highlight to work with students, families and counselors in such an incredible mid-western city. People ask me all the time if I'm from St. Louis. My response is usually "I wish".

On a personal note, my wife and I have two sons and two dogs. In addition to time with them, I enjoy running (mud runs, 5K's and a half marathon with my high school junior), movies, reading and baseball.   Everyone in our office - and most families I work with - know I am a die hard St. Louis Cardinals fan!
