<head>Historical Note</head>
<p>Elon College/University started building a television services program in the summer of 1984. During this time Cablevision of Alamance County approached the school with a proposal to lay cable for an internal campus television channel, in turn asking the school to provide programming for the local access cablevision channel. The first coordinator of Elon's television services was hired in 1984 and television equipment was acquired. The television services production studio has been housed in many locations on campus such as Mooney building, and is currently in the McEwen Communications building. Over the years, television services has produced many local shows relating to Elon and the surrounding communities. Additionally, they are responsible for recording all major events that take place on campus, including cultural events. Both Elon students and employees are responsible for recording events, maintaining equipment, creating and hosting shows, and staying current with technology trends in the field.

<head>Arrangement</head>
<p>The collection is primarily arranged chronologically. Within each box for 2001, the audio-visual materials are arranged chronologically. Some audio-visual materials have been placed on top of the pre-arranged materials because they were added to the box after the initial order was established. A printed out spreadsheet document has been placed inside of each box detailing the contents in chronological order.
