Please contact the Archivist and Special Collections Librarian for further details about the location. This collection includes documents related to the Elon University faculty and staff planning week, which takes place the week prior to the beginning of the fall semester. In the past, it has been referred to as faculty orientation, faculty-staff planning conference, and most recently it is known as planning week. Planning week includes a variety of programs geared towards the new and returning faculty and staff at Elon, as well as an update about events that happened on campus over the summer and what is in store for the fall semester on campus. Many committee and organizational meetings take place during this time, as well as social gatherings such as college coffee, receptions at the President's house, and the faculty-staff picnic. The week is concluded with New Student Convocation, when new students and their families are formally welcomed to Elon. This collection primarily contains correspondences relating to planning week, as well as complete schedules of events for any given year.
