This collection includes documents pertaining to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and Elon University. The collection of materials begins in 1929 and continues to present day. The majority of documents from the 1930s are forms (some completed, some not) generated by SACS that Elon College had to complete in order to be evaluated for re-accreditation. Much of the rest of the collection includes member lists of individuals on SACS committee's at Elon, correspondences about SACS visits and re-accreditation, SACS self-study information, and general accreditation information. The collection is arranged chronologically and then alphabetically by type of material. The SACS reports for Elon University have a record in the library catalog and are available to view in the Belk Library Archives and Special Collections.
