The Pendulum named Online Pacemaker finalist
The news organization's website is one of five finalists in its enrollment category for the prestigious award.
The Pendulum was selected as a 2015 finalist in the Associated Collegiate Press Online Pacemaker competition. It's the fourth time The Pendulum has been a finalist in this category, with the other finalist finishes coming in 2010, 2011 and 2013.
The ACP Online Pacemaker entries are judged by a panel of professionals with extensive online media experience. According to ACP, judges noted that the recognized websites "provided readers with a complete visual experience, utilizing graphics, powerful photography and polished multimedia to tell stories. Timely coverage of topics relevant to the audience was a must. The best sites also engaged audiences effectively on social media."
The Pendulum was among 29 total finalists across all competition categories but among five finalists in the "Newspaper 5,001-10,000 Enrollment" category. In total, 145 entries were submitted for the contest. Winners will be announced at the Associated Collegiate Press/College Media Association conference Oct. 28-Nov. 1 in Austin, Texas.
