Luke LeSourd ’13 wins regional Emmy Award
The senior producer for the Redskins Broadcast Network was recognized on June 25 at the 58th National Capital Chesapeake Bay Regional Emmy Awards ceremony.
Luke LeSourd ’13, an Elon University alumnus and Communications Fellow, captured a National Capital Chesapeake Bay Regional Emmy Award on June 25 for his work on the Redskins Broadcast Network (RBN).
A senior producer for the Washington Redskins, LeSourd contributed to an RBN documentary, titled “Taylor Made for the Hall,” that focused on the life and career of Pro Football Hall of Famer Charley Taylor. The program was recognized in the Outstanding Sports – One-Time Special category of the 58th National Capital Chesapeake Bay Regional Emmy Awards.
In addition to documentary films, RBN produces a host of Redskin-related television shows that are broadcast on local television stations during the season and offseason.
“I can't tell you how excited and humbled I was,” said LeSourd in a note to Kenn Gaither, associate dean in the School of Communications. “Without the Fellows program and Elon education I don't believe I'd be half the producer I am today. I am so grateful for the outstanding education I received.”
The National Capitol Chesapeake Bay Emmy Awards, which are a division of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, recognize television and media professionals in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
