Gammon article about mockingbirds to appear in international journal

Dave Gammon, associate professor of biology, and a former research student, Pat Lyon '16, just had a peer-reviewed article accepted for publication in an international bird research journal.

Dave Gammon, associate professor of biology, and a former research student, Pat Lyon '16, just had a peer-reviewed article accepted for publication in an international bird research journal. 

In his BIO499 research, Lyon learned that mockingbirds sound different when they mimic vs. when they produce mockingbird-specific song. This provides clues into the evolutionary origins of vocal mimicry. The research is the basis for the article coauthored with Gammon that will appear in the Dutch journal has been accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed Dutch journal Ardea.
