Preeshl awarded a doctorate of education from Union Institute and University

Artemis Preeshl, visiting assistant professor of performing arts, has been awarded a doctorate of education from Union Institute and University.

Artemis Preeshl, visiting assistant professor of performing arts, received her doctorate of education from Union Institute and University on Oct. 28, 2017.

Having begun her study of higher education administration in higher education in 2013, Preeshl completed her doctorate of education in June 2017. Her work centered on improving efficiency in educational administration in departments, colleges, and across the university and increasing rates of student recruitment, retention, graduation rates in student-centered education.

In her year-long internship, Preeshl studied honors and diversity programming in the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. Preeshl interviewed 16 experts in stage and film acting on the transference of acting for stage skills to film, T.V., and digital media in her doctoral dissertation.

The New Orleans Film Festival premiered Preeshl's film, "Ripe Figs," in October 2017. Preeshl co-directed Elon's Instant Laughter improvisation show. In spring 2018, Preeshl will coach verse and accents in Elon's contemporary production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.
