SPDC staff use life-sized Chutes and Ladders for design thinking presentation at national conference

Ross Wade and Brooke Buffington presented at the National Association of Colleges and Employers annual conference in New Orleans on June 6.

Ross Wade and Brooke Buffington presented "Design Thinking: Develop Your Team to Better Engage Students and Campus Partners" at the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) annual conference in New Orleans on June 6.

More than 100 attendees participated in a life-sized Chutes and Ladders game created by Buffington and Wade as a way to walk them through the design thinking process. Presentation attendees gained a better understanding of the design thinking process and how to use perspective-taking and empathy mapping to grow intercultural skills and better work with students and university partners.

The NACE connects more than 8,100 college career services professionals at nearly 2,000 colleges and universities nationwide, and more than 3,100 university relations and recruiting professionals. NACE is the leading source of information on the employment of the college educated, and forecasts hiring and trends in the job market; tracks starting salaries, recruiting and hiring practices, and student attitudes and outcomes; and identifies best practices and benchmarks.
