Bacot quoted in New York Times story on presidential race

Hunter Bacot

Hunter Bacot, an associate professor of political science and director of the Elon University Poll, was the first expert quoted in an Oct. 21, 2008, article in the New York Times that examines the presidential race in North Carolina.

"In Bush Stronghold, Obama Pulls Even With McCain" by reporter Katharine Q. Seelye outlines the dynamics of a close presidential contest in the Tar Heel State.

From the story: “For a Republican to be tied at this point in the election in North Carolina is unfathomable,” said Hunter Bacot, a political scientist at Elon University, which Gov. Sarah Palin, Mr. McCain’s running mate, visited last week.
