Elon DPT students participated at the NC Special Olympics Basketball and Cheerleading Tournament FUNfitness at Wake Forest University on March 7, 2009. The DPT students were:
 

2009 DPT students: Morgan Rountree, Meagan Stobie, Angela O'Daniel, Leslie Durke and Keri Sheehan.
2010 DPT students: Amanda Cope, Mike Bourassa, and Laura Corriher
2011 DPT student: Jenna Valaer
Assistant Professor: Daryl Lawson, PT, DSc

The event drew a total of 76 volunteers with 11 Physical Therapists, 4 Physical Therapy Assistants, 24 Student physical therapists from the schools of Elon, Drexel, Duke, and UNC, as well as 27 non-clinical folks including 20 teen volunteers. The event screened 41 athletes for strength, balance, endurance and flexibility and provided the athletes a program for their next sport season. Events like this are very special to the athletes, families and coaches and the participants at Elon University.
