Kromer featured in Times-News article about the future of women in politics

Political science professor Mileah Kromer, whose specialties include women in politics and government, shared her insights about female candidates in North Carolina in an article published recently by the Burlington (N.C.) Times-News.

The article, titled "In the Running," looked at how now more than ever women are making a mark in the political world. The article also examined research that suggests that the the only thing stopping them is not filing for office.

Kromer was quoted as saying that a big part of the reason more women don’t hold political office is simply because they’re less likely than men to run. A key reason for that reluctance, according to Kromer, is “an ambition gap."
