Education alumni garner Alamance-Burlington School System honors
The Alamance-Burlington School System named Tyronna McKoy Hooker, a 2009 graduate of Elon's master of education program, its 2010 Teacher of the Year at a banquet on Wednesday, Sept. 8. Five other Elon alums, all chosen as their respective school's teacher of the year, were also considered for the system-wide recognition.
Hooker, an exceptional children teacher at Graham Middle School, received the MidCarolina Bank Excellence in Education award, which carries a $2,000 prize for the teacher and a $1,000 for the winning teacher's school.
Along with Hooker, Elon alumni considered for the award included:
