Steve Schuckenbrock '82 to speak at Love School of Business - Nov. 12
Steve Schuckenbrock ’82, president of Dell Global Large Enterprise, will share his thoughts on the future of computing and information technology with Elon students, faculty and staff at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, in LaRose Digital Theatre. He will receive the 2010 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award at the conclusion of the presentation.
A reception will follow Schuckenbrock's address at 2:30 p.m. in the Koury Business Center atrium.
Schuckenbrock, one of Elon’s most accomplished alumni, has spent nearly three decades as a dynamic executive in the IT field.
In 2006, Michael Dell, founder and CEO of Dell, Inc., hand-picked Schuckenbrock to help lead the reorganization of the company. As CIO and senior vice president of global services, Schuckenbrock facilitated Dell’s transition from a hardware producer to a business solutions company. Under his leadership, Dell has expanded its business consulting and managed solutions offerings, streamlined its business processes and developed a lucrative new retail business through Wal-Mart. His success was rewarded in 2009, when he was promoted to president of Dell Global Large Enterprise, through which he manages nearly a third of Dell’s business and focuses on the company’s largest corporate customers.
Before joining Dell, Schuckenbrock served as executive vice president of global sales and client services for EDS; COO of The Feld Group, an IT consulting company; global CIO of PepsiCo; CIO of Frito-Lay; and worked in several management roles for IBM.
An outstanding scholar-athlete at Elon, Schuckenbrock played on the golf team and graduated in 1982 at the top of his class, majoring in business administration and mathematics. He lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife, Becky, and their five children.
