Schedule for 16th annual Elon University Jazz Festival

The Elon University Jazz Festival runs Feb. 13-18, 2012, with several events for students, faculty and staff to enjoy around campus.

Under the direction of the Jon Metzger, the 16th annual Elon University Jazz Festival expands this year to include more performances, more guest lecturers and more artists with a Saturday evening concert capping the week. The program is sponsored by Jazz Studies at Elon University.

Monday, February 13

12:15-1:30 p.m. (Yeager Recital Hall)
Lunchtime Lecture: Politics and Jazz with Professor Laura Roselle

Tuesday, February 14

12:30-2 p.m. (Whitley Auditorium)
Lunchtime Lecture/Performance: Mixing Jazz and Classical Music, featuring Knight Music by Jon Metzger, Kevin Boyle (English), and music faculty Gerald Knight, Omri Shimron and Jon Metzger as facilitators/performers

Wednesday, February 15

12:15-1:30 p.m. (Center for the Arts, Room 162)
Workshop: Small Group Jazz Techniques, led by Howard Curtis and Ed Neumeister

1:40-2:40 p.m. (Center for the Arts, Room 162)
Workshop: Jazz Arranging Techniques, led by Howard Curtis and Ed Neumeister

Admission is free and no tickets are required.
