Shawn Tucker Presents on Willy Loman, Michael Scott, and Narcissism

Associate Professor of Fine Arts Shawn Tucker presented some of his research at the conference of the Humanities Education and Research Association March 7-10, 2012.

Held in Salt Lake City, the conference brought together national and international scholars working in all areas of the Humanities. Dr. Tucker's presentation, "Death of a Branch Manager: Willy Loman, Michael Scott, and the Tragicomedy of Narcissism," brought together insights he developed from his Pride, Humility, and the Good Life seminar. He examined the defensive self-esteem of both characters as well as their explicit and implicit self-esteem. This interdisciplinary examination, drawing upon current psychological insights to explore literature and television, was well received.
