Music Theatre Alumna Opens Sixth Broadway Show
Kiira Schmidt '03, music theatre, opened in The Mystery of Edwin Drood on Nov. 13.
This marks her sixth time appearing on the Broadway stage. Previously, she appeared in White Christmas (Rita), Follies (Margie), Anything Goes (Reno Understudy/Ensemble), as well as Stairway to Paradise and No, No, Nanette at ENCORES!
The Mystery of Edwin Drood is being put on by the Roundabout Theatre Company and is set to run through February 10, 2013. Aside from show-hopping on the Great White Way, Kiira has made quite a name for herself as a dance teacher and choreographic assistant. She has also worked consistently with Randy Skinner (Original 42nd Street, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas) and Joshua Bergasse (Smash, So You Think You Can Dance).
